Cottage eve 8.9.
On Saturday 8.9 you have a unique chance getting to know the Finnish mökki-culture. During the day we can go mushroom and berry picking in the forest and in the evening go to the sauna together and make a campfire. We will get to hear more about the culture of Finland. Staying overnight in the cabin is possible as well as leaving in the evening with the bus back to Helsinki.
The Cabin is situated by the Pond Särkilampi in Västerskog (literally, western forest), Sipoo. The location is about 25 km from Helsinki to the direction of Porvoo. The Cabin is also accessible via busses 848 from Kamppi and 841 from Itäkeskus, which both have bus stops on a walking distance from the Cabin. There are two common departures from Kamppi bus station: first one at 12.00 (bus 848) and the second one at 16.00 (bus 848). Dress according to the weather: take some warm clothes and socks with you. If you want to go to the sauna and/or stay overnight, take a towel, toothbrush +etc, sleeping bag with you. You can also bring your own snacks and stuff to grill and optionally your own booze. World Cup of Academic Quidditch 15.9.
World Cup of Academic Quidditch is here again! Aava organises the quidditch tournament on Saturday 15.9. at 1 pm at Silkkiniitty in Espoo.
16 fastest teams to sign in qualify for the tournament. Taking part is easy and doesn’t require earlier quidditch experience. Audience is also very welcome to this thrilling sport event. Come and witness the (almost) magical sport atmosphere ever! Info, registration and The Rules: huispaus.fi |
Human vs Zombies Otaniemi 19.-23.9.
Welcome, stranger, to the mighty realms of Otaniemi, where the mortal races of dwarves, elves, orc and merfolk have traveled to provide a safe place for their peoples. The scouts tell of a land filled with promise, though they mention some nonsense of an unspeakable horror that lurks in the dark. But nevermind them, they surely just saw a bear and now cry wolf. We will be fine! Join one of the peoples and create a future in this land. Complete quests and gain glory! Also, don’t die. That would be extremely inconvenient for our cause.
Humans vs. Zombies is a moderated game of tag where zombie players try to spread the infection by tagging human players. Humans can in turn protect themselves by hiding, fleeing or fighting back (using socks or foam gun darts to ”stun” zombies). Exciting missions and quests will be available every day. Since teamwork is often the best strategy, players are guaranteed to meet new people. HvZ is created for campuses like Otaniemi, so we couldn’t have a better area for the game! Participation is completely free of charge. The organizers will provide the game scarf and special items for you. All you have to do is sign up, show up and play.
