Aalto Wellbeing Week 3.-7.10.
Aalto Wellbeing Week is an annual wellbeing event for all Aalto people! A lot of events are available during the week to support your wellbeing. During the wellbeing week, there are keynote lectures on topical issues and different workshops for the wellbeing of mind as well as restorative and energizing body recreational moments.
University’s internal and external wellbeing sponsors’ day is on Wednesday 5.10. at Undergraduate centre. Also there will be an opportunity to visit the Espoo Museum of Modern Art EMMA with guided tours on Friday 7.10.2022
Unisport offers open doors during the week Mon – Fri 3 – 7.10. in Otaniemi centre Otahalli.

Registration for Landcape Architecture Day 2022 is open!
We offer free entrance for Department of Architecture degree students and members of staff (150 seats quota). For this free entrance students should use aalto.fi e-mail address for registration.
Lunch tickets and dinner tickets available for purchase.
Registration is open until 30.9. (or until quota is full). If you miss your free entrance, you can buy your ticket from the event website. There are tickets for online stream available also!

Answer Karvi survey about teaching and learning
Welcome to respond to the survey!
The aim of the survey is to obtain diverse information on students’ experiences and views on learning and studying in higher education. We hope that every higher education student will respond to the survey based on their own experiences of studying. Everyone’s answer is important.
The deadline for responding is 7.10.2022. Responding takes around 20-25 minutes. The survey is here.
The survey is part of the Evaluation of the state and reform of higher education pedagogy, which is implemented by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC). Some of the answers may be used in the Evaluation of Government’s key projects for higher education 2017–2022. Once the evaluation has been completed, the responses will be archived, and they can be handed over for research use. The answers that will be archived will be anonymised. The results of the survey will be reported in a way that makes it impossible to identify individual respondents.

[AK] Guild Evening: Board makeover 10.10.
Welcome to Guild evening on the 10th of October from 5pm onwards!
What is a Guild evening? Guild evenings are open discussion events, where all Guild members get to share their ideas and thoughts about current topics concerning the Guild. These discussion inform the decision-making of the Board, so Guild evenings are a great way to make a concrete influence.
What’s the topic this time? The Board makeup for the year 2023 will be changing, and as the Election meeting takes place at the end of November, the roles up for election should be clear as soon as possible. So, the Guild evening discusses which roles are included in the Board of next year.
Why are we changing the Board makeup? The amount of new bachelor students in the Department of Architecture has been on the rise for years, and next fall we are going to have about 120 new bachelor students. Such a large number of fuksis is too much for one Fuksi captain, so the Board wanted to name two Fuksi captains for the year 2023. However, our rules currently state that the maximum size of the Board is 13 members, so in order to get another captain in, something needs to change. Technically it is possible to change the rules of the Guild, but that was deemed as a last-resort solution by the Board.
What options do we have? Solutions to the problem include e.g. making the ISOcouncillor a job for a non-board-member or rearranging the responsibilities in the communications sector or overall in the Board. We can also discuss whether some tasks currently under Board members should be done by other Guild actives or if some tasks from the committees should be moved to the Board (like the editor of the Guild magazine Paperi).

Aalto-Volley
Aalto-Volley is an active student sports club that offers opportunities to play volleyball at an official series level or simply for recreation. Our practices are held four times a week in Espoo at varying skill levels. This season we aim to arrange a women’s team and two men’s teams for the local and regional series.
We also arrange more casual playing days so everyone with all skill levels can come to try and train. Feel free to contact aalto.volley@gmail.com if you are interested in playing volleyball!
