EASA presentation 5.3.
EASA is getting closer! Come to have a coffee and to hear about the best thing you can do in summer to the cafeteria of Miestentie 3 on Monday 5.3. at 12.00!
EASA is short for European Architecture Students’ Assembly. It gathers 600 architecture students annually to meet each other for two weeks and to make architecture workshops together. EASA is organised for architecture students by architecture students.
This year EASA takes place in Rijeka, Croatia on 21.7. – 4.8. Participant call will start in March or April and we will inform about it when it starts.

Campus Sauna 5.3.
Väre is coming! The Otaniemi campus is growing and developing!
But what does this mean in practice? Come hear more at Campus Section’s campus sauna on Monday 5th of March at 16:30, at the Rantasauna!
The presentations will be held in English. After presenting the projects we can enjoy good company, discussions and the warm sauna. So be equipped with a towel! Campus Section will offer tasty snacks for everyone.

Kettle & clock: Masterchef Guild of Architecture 6.3.
The biggest culinary competition in the world comes to the Guild of Architecture when the cultural year kicks off with the first event of the year! So put on your apron, pack your knives and participate in this playful cooking competition on March 6th at 6pm!
The event consists of three different tasks: in the Blind test you will identify different ingredients blindfolded, in the Taste test you will identify as many ingredients as possible from a single dish and finally, in the Mystery Box challenge you will unleash your creativity with the given ingredients. You can participate solo or in a group of a maximum of 4 persons. Each task will be scored (only the judges will see the scores) and at the end of the night the individual/group with the highest score will receive a small prize.
The competition will be held in Otarannan kerhotila, we will bring hot plates to the contestants. The space has all the usual cooking equipment, but you may bring your own sous vide cooker or food dehydrator if you find that necessary. The event costs 8€, the money will be collected in the event.
Sign-up for this event starts on Monday, February 19th and the link to the sign-up will be posted to the Facebook event. Be quick, only the first 16 can participate!

Designing Guild’s Magazine “Paperi” 8.3
Paper 2 idea meeting of editorial staff thursday 8.3. 18 o-oclock at learning centre, downstairs – new people intrested in drawing or writing something to the Paper also welcome!
Winter Workout + SAUNA 8.3.
Get the best out of the Finnish winter and come and jog a few kilometers with us in Otaniemi! After the hard work you’ll be provided an opportunity to enjoy a hot sauna on wheels in Otaranta afterwards. Don’t forget to bring a towel. :clin_d’œil:

One of our guilds biggest overall sponsors Wienerberger comes to Miestentie 3 to give a short lecture about their company on friday 9.3 at 13-14. Coffee and snacks will be served! Come to see what kind of company is printed on your overalls! Dresscode: overalls
Watercolors & Wine 13.3
When the winter cold freezes both water and wine, it’s best to crawl inside and enjoy them in the warmth of a fireplace. So come and channel your artistic side through watercolour painting – and wine. You don’t need to be an expert. We will paint different kinds of compositions. If you can’t bring your own supplies, they will be provided by the guild.
The event is free, the wine costs 3€.

Kiima- The Retro edition 15.3.
In The Heat of the Night! The Architecture students have gone for a quest to find the best of the past for spring KIIMA. Be at Smökki on 15th of March for this intense retro- marathon all the way from 50’s towards the new millenium!
Mullets and swing dresses, outrageous shoulderpads and your beloved DC shoes from 2nd grade get to come together along the beats of DJ T. P. Uotila! Guilds hottest dance group #SWAGSWAGNAMNAM! will also show up to entertain the guests.

BEST Summer courses’ application deadline approaching
This summer, BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) brings to you courses around Europe.
In these, you’ll get to attend lectures, given by the university’s teaching staff or by experts from companies, on Technology, Career Related Skills, and Applied Engineering. After the lectures, you’ll also take part in evening programmes, designed for you, to give a taste of the LBG (Local BEST Group) – that hosts you – and the local culture.
These courses are about one week long. They cost up to 50€, including stay and food.

Train as a Security Officer, AYY pays for the costs!
AYY is organizing a Security Officer course. The training is held from the 6th to the 8th and from the 14th to the 16th of April 2018. The course is free if you commit to working as a Security Officer in four (4) AYY events by the end of 2019. You can also take part to the Security Officer refresher course on 14th of April if your Security Officer card is running out of date. The refresher course is free if you commit to working as a Security Officer in one (1) AYY event.
The course will be held in Finnish.
The course has 20 slots and it’s organized at Otaniemi. The signup opens on the 12th of March at 12pm and closes on the 22nd of March at 23:59pm or when the course is full.
