Jäynä Finale

It’s back!

Come and check out the most exhilarating and invigorating jäynäs in the lecture hall M on Wednesday 22 April at 3 p.m. ! It will be full of surprises! It’s traditionally been a full house, so arrive early to make sure you fit in.

Don’t forget to vote, as the voting is open for everyone and starts immediately after the final at www.jäynä.fi!

The winner of the 28th annual Jäynä Competition as well as the public’s favourite will be announced on 30 April at 1 p.m. as part of Wappurieha announcement from the roof of Smökki.

WappuAalto

Would you like to start your wappu a bit grander this year?!

AYY’s community committee Aava organizes a spectacular start-of-vappu -festival for the entire Aalto on Wednesday 22nd of April! Don’t be square and show up at Alvarin aukio from 5 p.m. onwards to enjoy the feel of the festival! On the spot you’ll have a chance to check out all the fun activities our clubs have prepared and to see what the cap of Manta looks like from close by. In addition to that your good party will be guaranteered by bands like Järjestyshäiriö, Wikirock, aKYstic and Saattue!

TOKYO’s International Food Fair

TOKYO is arranging again the mighty and magnificent International Food Fair. Join us at the lobby of 5th floor (Arabia kampus, turn right from the Meccala elevators) The point of this event is very simple. Make a dish and bring it with you to the mentioned place at the mentioned time and share it with your fellow students. Bring also a little introduction paper to your food with the used ingredients so we won’t have any allergic surprises and the people with special diets feel more comfortable. Load your bellies with delicious courses near to the point of it’s self destruction or even beyond it. BYOB if your appetite includes a thirst!

Sitsit contest

It is time for the traditional sitsi contest on Saturday, 25 Apr! In this event, you can let your imagination run wild and execute your wildest sitsi dreams. So gather together a merry group of enthusiastic participants and plan sitsit for your team, including the theme, setting and catering. You have the opportunity to organise the sitsit that you have planned at Alvari Square on 25 Apr, starting at 2pm. A prestigious jury will choose the winners based on the best theme, attitude and implementation. The awards ceremony will take place in connection with the declaration of May Day celebrations on 30 Apr.

MP3 Experience

Join the MP3 Experience that has attained an incredible international reputation! This event is definitely something that you have never experienced before.

Mosaic will organise this hugely successful event for the 7th time on Monday of the Wappu week, 27 April. The idea is to download a music file (approx. one hour) to your phone or music device, push PLAY simultaneously with the crowd and follow the instructions you hear. The purpose is to attract positive attention, delight other people and have fun in a great group.

What is going to happen this year? There’s only one way to find out – come and explore the city with us!

PELMU Wappu Festival

What happens, when bands that have been training the whole winter in a windowless basement are unleashed on the number one stage in Otaniemi, in the sparkling crossfire of Teekkarispeksi’s stage lighting? A breathtakingly stunning show that you don’t want to miss! So gather your friends and come to PELMU’s Wappufestival in Smökki and let the badass bands of this village amaze you! The event also acts as the official after party for Teekkarijaosto’s Crazy John and is free of charge!

Crazy John!

Otaniemi’s night will be full of silly foolishness of Wappu as Crazy John takes place on the 29th April!

As freshmen teams have parted after the starting shot of Yöjäynä, it’s time to find out who is the craziest, funniest and the most creative group of friends in Otaniemi!

Gather 4-10 people for your team and go on an adventure around Otaniemi to carry out bustling checkpoints and to compete for the title of “the craziest group of students”.

The key elements to this competition are the Wappu atmosphere and lively spirit!

May Day Parade

This year, it is AYY’s turn to crown the Manta statue with the student cap and the May Day parade will take us closer to May Day and Manta’s crowning ceremony. Please come to Hietalahti Square after the declaration of May Day celebrations on 30 Apr. The parade will be formed at 3.30pm and we hope that you will be there well in advance. The celebration will start at the square and culminate in the parade. Bring yourself and your friends and come to show some May Day spirit!

Dipoli May Day Party

May Day party is approaching, are you ready?!!

The legendary May Day party is organised once again at Dipoli! This year, AIKAKONE and JEREMY FOLDEROL will entertain the party people!

Don’t be a square, come and crazy party and press the student cap on your head when the clock strucks midnight. In the event, you can also get to know e.g. OtaKaLa. The evening may also include surprises ;-)

Tickets cost EUR 10 in advance and EUR 13 at the entrance.

Collective Wappu Hangover

Believe it or not, there will be life after Wappu and after all the parties and events during Wappu, you might find yourself somewhat lonely and in the need of company. This will be easily fixed by joining the Guild of Architecture at our very own cabin in the woods, Maja. We will spend Saturday evening, 2nd May watching comedies there. In order to enjoy the event, make sure you sign up by 1st May here https://arkkitehtikilta.fi/?p=5591. The price for the event is 5 euros, which includes dinner, movie snacks and breakfast. The bus to Maja leaves from the long-distance bus terminal in Kamppi at 5 PM.
