ARTS summer cleaning 2024

Due to Aalto’s selection test arrangements, all home nests must be emptied:

In the A wing of Otakaari 1 no later than Monday 27 May 2024 at 5 p.m.

In Väre no later than Thursday 6 June 2024 at 5 p.m

ARTS infra’s workshops are closed for annual maintenance. All personal items must be picked up from the workshops no later than Wednesday 12 June. at 5 p.m.

The A wing of Otakaari 1 will be closed to students for cleaning from July 1 to July 31, 2024.

Väre’s compartments must be emptied for maintenance no later than Thursday 13 June. at 5 p.m.

Otakaari 1st floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor. and 3rd floor the white cabinets and student work storage shelves in the lobby must be emptied on Thursday, June 13. by 5 p.m.

Claim your belongings in time, because the university has no way to store unclaimed goods, they can be disposed of during the summer break.

Annual enrolment for 2024 – 2025 now open

For continuing students the enrolment period for 2024–2025 academic year is from 2 May to 30 August 2024. New master students can enrol after the student selection results have been published. You can enrol in the OILI service

PIN codes are back – how to move on campus

For Aalto community

We want to ensure safe and controlled access to the university premises. Starting from February 2024, a PIN code will be required to open the outer doors, when entering buildings, in the evenings after 22.00 and the early morning before 6.15. This includes all Aalto University buildings.

Thursday 9.5. Bike trip to AK’s cottage (Maja)

According to the legends, Wappu never ends (!), but were that to happen, AK Sports Club and Cabin Crew provide a cure: a bike trip to AK’s cottage on Ascension Day May 9.

We’ll bike around 35kms, from AK’s guild room to the cottage in an peaceful pace so all bikes keep together.

During the trip, we’ll stop for a small snack break, and once there, we’ll eat and go to sauna. If you want, you can also participate in the talkoot making our very own hot tub

You can head home at your own convenience the same or next day. Mellunmäki metro station is 13kms away, if you want to speed up the trip back.

When? Departure from the guild room at 12 o’ clock May 9, return same or next day

Sunday 12.5. ”Crafting for Responsible Consumption” workshop at Oodi

 Join us for the ”Crafting for Responsible Consumption” workshop! We have two exciting parts:

1️. Panel Discussion: Dive into responsible consumption with our engaging panel. 

2️. Crafting Session: Get hands-on! Use discarded fabric to create beautiful bird shapes on paper, forming a unique half-year calendar.

Tuesday 14.5. Tour de Terde

Are you ready to start the terrace season? Now you can do it at a student-friendly price when Tour de Terde terrace pub crawl takes over the bars and cafés on 14 May. Along the way, you can enjoy both coffee and stronger refreshments in the after-work atmosphere, as departure times are between 3 pm and 6 pm. After the tour ends at 10 pm, you can make your way to Kaivohuone, where Silver Astronauts and a mystery artist will be featured!

Event is part of AYY14 annual ball week.

Saturday 18.5. Underpass Rave

Does your calendar look too empty for May? Are you still missing the trendiest event of the year? Don’t worry, because AaltoDJ and Polijazz are organizing the most electrifying gathering of the year in the underpass tunnel!

The day kicks off at 14:00 as a cypher jam where everyone can show their dancing skills when The Mexican and DJ Tauko sets the dance floor on fire! There’s also three exhibition battles upcoming so if you don’t want to dance you can still come and watch some awesome breaking!

And that’s not all! after the cypher jam at 19:00 the uderpass will turn into a rave where AaltoDJ will explode 

the atmosphere!! The rave continues through the wee hours of the night ending at 4:00! 

And what does this all fun cost? ✨NOTHING✨ Open up your schedule and mark this event because it’s going to be an unforgettable experience!

Upcoming: 25.5. Party on a Boat (registration opens 10.5.)

It’s time to set your sea legs in motion and embark on a journey to celebrate the end of the semester in style. We set sail aboard the Sunlines’ M/S Emma when the sun is hot, and the seas are high!

On Saturday the 25th of May, three subject clubs take you to Party on a Boat along Helsinki’s coastline with live DJs, a floating bar, and breathtaking views

Event begins at 11:30 at Kauppatori for sparkling wine and other non-alcoholic refreshments. Departure is at 12:00 from Kauppatori and return at 15:30. Please arrive on time for the refreshments and to ensure all attendees are on board and ready to party.

WHAT: A exciting party cruise with AMS, BT and Management

WHEN: Saturday, 25.05.2024 from 11:30 – 15:30, followed by an afterparty (TBA)!

8.5 – 16.5. Drifting Lights – Exhibition at Väre LQ Lobby 

Projecting light in a dark space that creates both shadows and projections from our forgotten memories. Will someone rediscover them and keep taking care of them?

The year 2024 is Tempaus year

The eight-year wait is over. The rumours are true – the year 2024 is Tempaus year!

Tempaus harnesses the collective power of students to inform the public about issues that students consider important and topical. The last Tempaus took place in 2016, with the aim of raising the importance of basic education to a national debate.

Tempaus 2024 is aimed at the entire Aalto community, regardless of the year or field of study. More information about the theme and practicalities will be announced during the spring. Follow our information channels to stay updated!
