Welcome to Otaniemi campus of Aalto University!

Together, Aalto University and AYY are organizing CampusOmstart! event 9.3.2022. The purpose of the day is to welcome the entire Aalto community to return and get to know our wonderful campus, as studying and working together is one of the best parts of university life.

The event kicks off at the main square at 12. Otto Usvajärvi from AYY and vice president of Aalto University, Petri Suomala, will give a speech to welcome the Aalto community back. DJ will be playing music and Retuperän WBK orchestra will be present as well.

After the programme outside, the event will continue inside in the entrance halls of Väre and Undergraduate Centre, as well as in Harald Herlin Learning Centre. Also, the Museum of Student Life will be open, free entrance!

Aalto ARTS education portfolio – what, why, when?

As of 1 August 2022, the School of Arts, Design and Architecture will have a revised education portfolio. This page gives information on the renewal, its schedule, and instructions and material for students:

AllWell? Questionnaire

Dear 2nd year Bachelor’s and 1st year Master’s students – how are you? Please answer the study wellbeing questionnaire emailed to you. You get personal feedback and help us develop.

The questionnaire will be available online from 16 Feb. to 2 March 2022. Your response will remain anonymous.

After replying, you will get personal feedback with ideas on

• how to handle stress in a better way
• how to improve your study skills
• how to stop procrastinating with difficult issues
• how feelings affect study performance

We will communicate the programme level results to the heads of the degree programmes for the development of teaching.

Julkku Wappu magazine hackathon

Julkku organizes a wappu magazine hackathon at Otarannan kerhotila on Wednesday March the 9th. The hackathon is going to be a playful competition where teams can make their own mini wappu magazines! There will be Julkku staff members present to help you out and we will go through different segments of a wappu magazine. Plus there will be food and beverages giving participants inspiration.

You can collect ideas beforehand or start at the event – whichever suits your team best. Julkku provides you with pens and papers, but if you prefer using a computer, please bring your own machinery. Humour is the key, so no need to worry about the production value. The team which produces the winning magazine will be provided with reserved seats at the Festive Release Gala of Julkku later in the spring. There’ll be other surprise prizes, too. The products of the evening might be published in Julkku with the names of the authors.

️Julkku Paint Competition is an image editing competition open to everyone, where fame and glory is earned with jokes, not so much with image quality. Guild’s official announcement channel on Telegram

An official announcement TG-channel for the Guild of Architecture has been made!
Announcements and info about events and news aimed towards the members of the Guild will be messaged on the channel.
For now info about events, etc will be announced on the Arkkitehtikilta-group chat as well, but finding the information will now be easier with the help of an announcement channel. ⭐

The main languages on the channel are Finnish and English.
For now the admin rights for the channel belong to this year’s Board of the Guild of Architecture. (2022)
