What?
We challenge creative teams and individuals to come up and develop ideas that invite various people and groups to Hatsinanpuisto. What would be the reason to come, enjoy and stay? What new activities and experiences this park and it’s environment could offer?

Why?
The goal is that the park would be open and easy to enter. A place where citizens can feel safe and free. Hatsinanpuisto has the possibility to combine work and well-being in a whole new way.

How?
Sketch your idea – show us interesting references, new opportunities and challenge our architecture and landscape design with your idea! The entry ideas should be located in the public or semipublic areas of the Hatsinanpuisto area plan. The design can take place in the park, on the outside walls of the buildings, or even the roof.

The material
The layout of the contest area, as well as the 3D-model and rendered images, can be downloaded from here. We wish that the entry, or a part of it, would be done with Sketchup 3D-modeling software, provided by Trimble Solutions. However, the competition is not about your skill level in 3D-modeling, but your creativity and fresh ideas. You can download a free trial of Sketchup online at https://www.sketchup.com/try-sketchup

The Schedule:
4.9. Kick-off for brief and questions
16.9. Deadline for the entries
19.9. Jury invites the students behind best entries to pitch
23.9. Finalist pitches in front of the Jury in Dome of Visions in Otaniemi
26.9. Best ideas on show for the citizens in Sello
27.9. Finalist ideas to be presented in People-driven city seminar

The jury:
Hannu Tikka, Arkkitehti, Partneri, APRT
Tom Cederqvist, Arkkitehti, Partneri, CEJ
Eelis Rytkönen, Kehityshippi, NCC PD
Mika Rantala, Leppävaaran alueen projektinjohtaja, Espoon kaupunki
Steve Griffin, Sketchup

The prizes:
Finalists get access to People-driven city seminar in Dipoli on 27th Sept
The winner gets 500€ worth of present card to a service or a shop of choice

HUMAN VS ZOMBIES AUTUMN

Humans vs Zombies Autumn 18.-21.9.
Humans vs. Zombies is a moderated game of tag where zombie players try to spread the infection by tagging human players. Humans can in turn protect themselves by hiding, fleeing or fighting back (using socks or foam gun darts to ”stun” zombies). Exciting missions and quests will be available every day. Since teamwork is often the best strategy, players are guaranteed to meet new people.Participation is completely free of charge. The organizers will provide the game scarf and special items for you. All you have to do is sign up, show up and play. The game is played entirely in English.

This year the cosmos has twisted and shattered and the Ancient ones are Watching Otaniemi from the cracks beyond the veil of reality. Is there truth behind the ancient prophecies and is the unbending will of the Ancients unavoidable? Play and find out!
