September is here, and so are the weekly news! A valiant attempt will be made to deliver the English translation within 24h from the Finnish publication.
The semester is officially starting soon and Otaniemi is slowly being filled with old and new students. International students and national freshmen have already started their acquaintance with their studies and student life in Otaniemi. This following week is again full of exciting program and things to do, so stay tuned!

Opening of the Academic year is for everyone in the department of architecture! Students and staff gather to celebrate the opening of the new semester. Come and find out what’s going on in our department and the Guild of Architecture during next fall and enjoy some snacks and drinks. Welcome! Master’s level studio-INFO is right before year opening party, starting at 1 p.m.

The Opening Ceremony 13.15–14.30
Faculty, staff, and students of Aalto University are invited to celebrate the opening of the academic year on Friday 8 September 2017 at 13.15. The opening will be celebrated at the university’s new main building, Dipoli.

The recently finished renovation has restored this pearl of modern Finnish architecture to its former splendour. We welcome you to experience the new Dipoli together with the Aalto community.
The event does not require RSVP so you can just drop by between other events of Aalto Day One 2017–2018!
Aalto Party
After the opening ceremony thousands of students and staff get together to celebrate Aalto Party. The festival-like event gives you the opportunity to see old friends and make new ones while enjoying music and activities presented by the numerous associations and guilds at the university.

Fri 8.9. Aalto Afterparty 2017
This year, Aalto Afterparty will be organized for the sixth time and celebrated on Friday of the orientation week. The party will be off the roof as the boldest and most beautiful human beings light up the dance floor. After Akystic and DJ duo Paska Hyppönen ja Olli Kikkeli have warmed up the party, the amazing CASCADA (GER) will make sure that the crowd will be launched all the way to the other end of Milky Way!
Tickets for the event can be bought for 13€ (+2€ for the overall badge) from bailataan.fi and from ticket sales arranged during the week.
Let the stardust take you away and arrive to the most awesome party to start off the academic year at Otahalli on Friday September 8th at 9 pm!
P.S. HSL offers extra bustrips in the night, so that the party people can get home for the night. In addition to the normal schedule, bus 102T will also leave at 1:12 and 1:45.
