Let’s start Aalto’s Wappu with a traditional bang in WappuAalto! This carneval for the entire Aalto community will take place at Alvari square on 20th of April from 3 p.m. onwards. Come enjoy the Wappu atmosphere and enjoy the activities and program organized by various Aalto associations! This year also the academic running competition Akateeminen Wartti is held as a part of WappuAalto. At WappuAalto on Wednesday, 20.4, you can also do a bungee jump; you won’t want to miss this!
When you sign up in advance, the jump costs a paltry 35 euros, or it’s 40 euros on the day. Advance registration is open here until 6 pm on Tuesday, 19.4. you can jump alone or with a friend in tandem. There are jump times from 2 pm to 8 pm. WappuAalto will naturally continue at the WappuAalto after party at Smökki! The after party is held for the first time in history by KY’s own Cultural Subcommittee KUJ. The party starts at 8 pm and goes on into the morning hours.

Tempaus is a huge happening, where hundreds of students or maybe even thousands will make something spectacular together. Come to Alvarin aukio on 20th April at 5pm to see what the biggest phenomenon of the year, Tempaus2016, has in store for you!

Fri 22.4. Final of the Jäynä Competition
Come and check out the most exhilarating and invigorating jäynäs in the lecture hall U2 (Otakaari 1) on Friday 22 April at 14:45! It will be full of surprises! It’s traditionally been a full house, so arrive early to make sure you fit in. Don’t forget to vote, as the voting is open for everyone and starts immediately after the final at www.jayna.fi! The winner of the 29th annual Jäynä Competition as well as the public’s favourite will be announced on 30 April as part of Wappurieha announcement in the yard of Smökki.

Fri 22.4. The Mighty Unveiling of Julkku
Wappumagazine 2016 is coming! The 21st Julkku will be published with a supercalifragilistic show in Aalto-hall at Otakaari 1. As usual, the hall will be super crowded. Best way to ensure your seat is to sign your deal and be a Julkku vendor! By doing so you’ll also get to attend into the Vendors Cock&Tail-event at 17 o’clock! The night is not over after the release as it continues at Alvari’s square! The online deal tool (www.diilit.julkku.fi) opens on the 1st April.

Sat 23.4. The sitsit-competition entry of the Guild of Architecture
Let the games begin! On satruday 23.4 the Guild of Architecture gathers to Alvar Square fo some quality board gaming. As our entry for the academic sitsit-competition we are organising a huge Kimble-game, where the contestants throw a die and progress on the board torwards the next meal or drink. Who will win? Who gets eaten? Can the die be bribed? Join the team and find out! The official registration here.
