Aalto ARTS education portfolio – what, why, when?

As of 1 August 2022, the School of Arts, Design and Architecture will have a revised education portfolio. This page gives information on the renewal, its schedule, and instructions and material for students:

T150: Magic of Technology 28.-30.3.

Welcome to celebrate technology and technology student culture over a period of 150 years!

“Tekniikan taikaa” or Magic of Technology is a 150th Anniversary event that showcases contemporary tech student culture, our history, our studies, and cutting edge research in the field. Come explore the triumphs and impact of technology from the past to the present and all the way into our vision for its future!⚙️

Magic of Technology exhibition will be open to the public on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th from 12pm to 5pm, and on Wednesday the 30th from 3pm to 10pm. Admission to the exhibition is free.

On Wednesday 30th March, after three days of caressed your hunger for technology in the tender care of Dipoli, you can head to Servin Mökki, where Otaniemi’s Hosts and Hostesses will keep you entertained!
You’ll get to enjoy great performers and grease your own technology wheels on the dance floor. Whether you come to refresh your memories or as a freshman to enjoy the free Smökki parties, a good time is guaranteed!

STOP CUTTING ARTS! -demonstration in Väre 31.3.

Please note: this is not a Guild event.

Aalto ARTS students are fed up and are worried about the direction it is taking ARTS, The School of Arts, Design and Architecture. It is considered that the priority of the university is financial benefit, not the students. Students do not have spaces that they need and they do not have a say in matters that have the biggest effect on us.

We students are choosing to act and make ourselves seen and heard. On Thursday 31.3.2022 there will take place “Reclaim Väre” demonstration in Väre. Students, faculty and any other people who’s interested are welcome. Event will be organized by Stop Cutting Arts Collective consisting of ARTS students from different fields of studies.

Stop Cutting Arts Collective has made an agenda (please see the appendix) with an intention to create discussion within students at the university. Students feel that present discussion forums and channels have not been adequate. Three followings are the main demands:

1. Stop cutting our studies and the budget of ARTS

2. More transparency to the decision making

3. Give back our spaces

Reclaim Väre demonstration will happen on Thursday 31.3.2022 from 12 pm in Väre, The School of Arts, Design and Architecture, in Otaniementie 14. Most of the events will take place in the Väre lobby or near it. The main language will be English in lectures, workshops and other activities during the event. The final schedule will be published closer to the event.

Guild’s official announcement channel on Telegram

An official announcement TG-channel for the Guild of Architecture has been made!
Announcements and info about events and news aimed towards the members of the Guild will be messaged on the channel.
For now info about events, etc will be announced on the Arkkitehtikilta-group chat as well, but finding the information will now be easier with the help of an announcement channel. ⭐

The main languages on the channel are Finnish and English.
For now the admin rights for the channel belong to this year’s Board of the Guild of Architecture. (2022)
