Otasuunnistus is a checkpoint crawl in which the freshmen have a chance to get to know the multitude of student associations in Otaniemi. The night is also about having lots of fun in a great company! The groups (consisting of 6-8 freshmen) are awarded points at the checkpoints, and the overall winner of the crawl is decided in Smökki during the afterparty.

The event starts at 17.00 at the Amphitheatre at Otakaari 1, the checkpoints are open from 17:00 to 22:00 and the afterparty starts in Smökki at 21:30.

Year opening party is for everyone in the Department of Architecture! Students and staff gather to celebrate the start of the new semester. Come and find out what’s going on in the department and the Guild of Architecture during next fall and enjoy some snacks and drinks. Welcome!

Masters level studio info is right before the year opening party, starting at 1 PM.

On Friday 9th of September starting at 8pm Smökki will be the venue for the best party of the orientation week! DJ and live music will keep the party going on for hours. Come and meet new people, old friends and enjoy yourself before the hard work begins. The event is unfortunately already sold out.

This year you don’t have to suffer the inbearable headache alone (or at all), for AYY’s Community Committee Aava organizes a first ever Supersillis for the orientation week! Now it is okay to rest your limbs and liver after the roughest week of the year (so far). Come enjoy the sillis sparkling, food and atmosphere on Saturday the 10th of September at Rantasauna! On top of food and new friends the sillis contains everything that a good sillis needs + sauna and tube. Because orientation week is a collective experience, all aalto students are welcome to the Sillis! Price is only 10 euros or after the sign up 12 euros at Rantsu if there’s room left.

Sign-up is here. Sign-up ends on 8.9. at 24:00.

We are going on a trip as the audience to a popular Finnish news talkshow. Unfortunately the event will be completely in Finnish. Regardless of that everyone is welcome to attend. Entrance is free and the registration closes 11.9. Further information will be provided after the registration closes. Sign-up here. Sign-up by 11.9. The sign-up is binding.
