You Tell Me Evening School – Direct Action\u00a0<\/b><\/h5>\n

How could we use non-violent direct action to demand a more responsible way to build our cities? In this evening school we will have guests from Elokapina \u2013 Extinction Rebellion Finland to talk about climate activism and civil disobedience. After an introduction to Elokapina we\u2019ll open a facilitated conversation about the possibilities of non-violent direct action in the field of architecture and built environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the conversation we have invited Elisa L\u00e4hde, Professor of Landscape Planning and Ecology at Aalto University and Panu Savolainen, Professor of History of Architecture at Aalto University, both of them also active in Elokapina. We welcome all the participants to join the discussion as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end we would love to form an affinity group for the built environment under Elokapina for people interested to act towards a more responsible way to build our cities. This event will be a great way to start your own activism, join Elokapina or just be curious and listen about the topic!<\/span><\/p>\n

What: Introduction to Elokapina \u2013 Extinction Rebellion Finland and facilitated conversation about the possibilities of non-violent direct action in the field of architecture and built environment with guests from Aalto University architecture faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 3rd Edition of the songbook of the Guild of Architecture Musta Neli\u00f6 was published in 2020, and it\u2019s time to see what it holds inside it. We\u2019re singing through the whole book at once!<\/div>\n
It\u2019s going to be a long night, but the singers are being taken care of by serving them some gl\u00f6gi to lubricate their throats. You\u2019re welcome to come drop by even if you can\u2019t stay for the whole night.<\/div>\n

Become one with both new and old male choir music in the traditional Christmas concert of the Polytech Choir on Saturday 11 Dec. Feel the usual Christmas warmth and spirit \u2013 while also getting to know new kinds of ways to celebrate Christmas with music. The choir is led by Saara Aittakumpu. Ark Rex \u2013 Architecture Film Festival is arranged on the final weekend of November on 25\u201328 November 2021. The main theme of this year\u2019s event hosted by <\/span>the Museum of Finnish Architecture<\/span><\/a> and Amos Rex is Utopias, dreams and future challenges, with a leading side theme of wood architecture.<\/span><\/p>\n

The festival programme delves into ideals, dreams and goals of the past and future, and how they have influenced our thinking, environment and architecture in practice. The history, current state and possible futures of utopias are constructed from the perspectives of architecture, films, literature, philosophy, economics and building technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

The competition is looking for plans for beautiful prefabricated houses that will inspire contractors to build and people to live in!<\/span><\/p>\n

Design a durable and scalable wooden prefabricated house, and enter the global ArchiFrame competition. You can win ArchiFrame and Archicad licenses for one year (prize value over $ 8,000)! The competition is open to everyone, including students. Enter the competition through the Prefab 2030 website.<\/span><\/p>\n
