I\u00a0General<\/u><\/h4>\n
Following changes have been made when using ARTS premises:<\/b><\/h5>\n

ARTS infra workshops<\/b><\/p>\n

– During lockdown, workshops serve only critically defined scheduled teaching and graduating students. The maximum headcount allowed has been decreased in some workshops.
\n<\/span>– In order to access the workshops, a reservation needs to be made via\u00a0<\/span>MyCourses ARTS Workshop Access<\/span><\/a>\u00a0-calendar or via scheduled course.
\n<\/span>– Please, read the refined\u00a0<\/span>safety information<\/span><\/a>\u00a0before coming to the campus.
\n<\/span>– The workshop master has the right to dismiss those who don\u2019t follow the safety measures.
\n<\/span>– According to the safety rules, staying at the workshops during the breaks (12 noon\u20131 pm & 5 pm-6 pm) is forbidden.<\/span><\/p>\n

ARTS homebases\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

– Homebases at Otakaari 1 are closed from 8th to 28th March 2021.
\n<\/span>– Some of the V\u00e4re homebases are open with restrictions.
\n<\/span>– In order to come to the homebase, you have to have a reservation made via\u00a0<\/span>MyCourses ARTS Homebase Scheduler<\/span><\/a>.
\n<\/span>– All the open homebases have a supervisor who monitors safety measures are followed. The supervisor has the right to dismiss those who don\u2019t follow the safety measures.
\n<\/span>– When entering the homebase, registrate to the supervisor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– According to the safety rules, using the homebase during the break (12 noon\u20131 pm) is forbidden.<\/span><\/p>\n

V\u00e4re IT classrooms and other special classrooms<\/b><\/p>\n

– Some of the IT and other special classrooms in V\u00e4re are open with restrictions to students to use when there is not any teaching happening
\n<\/span>– Using the classroom requires always pre-booking done via\u00a0<\/span>MyCourses ARTS Homebase Scheduler<\/span><\/a>.
\n<\/span>– All the open classrooms have a supervisor who monitors safety measures are followed. The supervisor has the right to dismiss those who don\u2019t follow the safety measures.
\n<\/span>– When entering the homebase, register with the supervisor.
\n<\/span>– According to the safety rules, using the homebase during the break (12 noon\u20131 pm) is forbidden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lobby registration<\/b><\/p>\n

– V\u00e4re and Otakaari 1 lobby services for students are closed from 8th to 28th March 2021.
\n<\/span>– Supervisors monitor the obeying the safety guidelines at the premises that can be booked by students<\/span><\/p>\n

Nordic co-design: New European Bauhaus<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The New European Bauhaus is a creative initiative that aims to combine sustainability, inclusion and aesthetics. It is an environmental, economic and cultural project instigated by the European Commission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nordic architects, artists, designers, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, students and everyone interested are invited to join in creating the Nordic perspective for the New European Bauhaus. Learn more about the initiative and participate in sharing inspiring examples, new ideas and imminent challenges by joining the co-design event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sailing Courses<\/h5>\n

Teekkaripurjehtijat (TRIP) organise practical sailing courses authorised by the Finnish association of sailing instructors, Purjehduksenopettajat ry (Pory). The possibility of arranging English-speaking courses depends on the number of interested participants and the availability of teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can sign up either for the elementary level Sailing Crew Course or for the Inshore Skipper Course whereby you concentrate on route planning, navigation, skippering and safety and emergency procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Design the Design Notebook of TOKYO and AYY<\/b><\/h5>\n

The design calendar is now a design notebook! Are you the designer whose work is in everyone’s hands this autumn? Designer competition is running from March 15th to April 6th at 12 noon!<\/span><\/p>\n

Next autumn, a new kind of design notebook will be published instead of the traditional academic year calendar of TOKYO and AYY. The notebook published at the beginning of the autumn term can be used as a bullet journal like a calendar, as a traditional notebook or even as a diary. We hope that the notebook is useful to more and more members of the Aalto community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you the designer that we are looking for? The contest will start on Monday, 15 Mar 2021. Please submit your entry no later than Tuesday, 6 Apr 2021 at 12.00 noon!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
