Welcome to discuss the future of ARTS!<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 11.4.2018 the Miestentie caf\u00e9 fills up with information when this spring’s WgoARTS is here! The theme this time is: life in Otaniemi<\/p>\n

In addition to the final moving info you’ll hear about the farewell to Arabia, opening of V\u00e4re and the ARTS moving celebrations. You’ll also get a glimpse from everyday life in the new campus building: What can you do there? Where will Kipsari go? What are the workshops like and what can you use them for?<\/p>\n

Joining us for the discussion will be the dean, the head of Learning Services and other staff. The event will start with refreshments at 16.00 and the program will take about two hours depending on the conversation.<\/p>\n

Application deadline is 22.4. at 23.59!<\/p>\n

WHAT IS EASA?<\/p>\n

EASA is short for European Architecture Students\u2019 Assembly. It gathers 500 architecture students annually to meet each other for two weeks and to make architecture workshops together. EASA is organised for architecture students by architecture students.
\nThis year EASA takes place in Rijeka, Croatia on 21.7. – 4.8.
\nDuring these 14 days the EASAians form a utopian community which maintains itself \u2013 nearly 500 students and professionals work, study, rest, cook, eat, clean and live together. There are participants, tutors, organizers, helpers and guests. The event focuses mostly on the workshops \u2013 taking up the majority of time. The event program is essentially packed with lectures, conducted by professionals from divergent spheres of activity, also strongly related to the theme. Exhibitions, open discussions, intuitive one-day workshops and spontaneous performances further investigate the questions arising during the two weeks.<\/p>\n

The cost of the event for the Finnish team members is 300 \u20ac, which includes accommodation, workshops and other program (excluding the possible excursions) and three meals every day.<\/p>\n

HOW TO APPLY TO THE FINNISH TEAM AS A PARTICIPANT?<\/p>\n

This years theme is RE:EASA. RE is a prefix, occurring originally in loanwords from Latin, used with the meaning \u2018again\u2019 or \u2018back\u2019. RE means acknowledging the presently or formerly existing and acting upon it. RE is dealing with the past or present to sort things out for the future. RE is aware of the circular nature of reality and interconnection of things. RE tackles the matter at hand for the sake of revealing a different kind of order or value.<\/p>\n

Your task is to choose your \u201cRE:____\u201d and implement it on a subject of your choice. You may use the format\/media of any kind (essay, poster, music, video, a recording of a performance \u2026) You should submit your solution attached to an email to easancfinland@gmail.com by 22.4. Name your application: FINLAND_NAME_LASTNAME_RE:TERM
\nWrite on the email also your full name, phone number and the school you study (or studied) in.
\nAfter the selection the chosen participants will get an email confirmation and their names and applications will be posted on the EASA Finland Facebook page (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EASAFinland\/)<\/p>\n

I am glad to be able to invite you for the opening of RobLab on Thursday 19.04. at the Department of Architecture, coupled with a lecture by Prof. Daniel Lordick. Additionally, Design of Structures group is offering 4 summer workshops this year (Parametric Design, Algorithmic Design I & II, Digital Fabrication)in which you will have a chance to try the RobLab firsthand. Baltic International Summer School 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond Urban Flows – Architecture and Engineering for Transition Places.<\/p>\n

The Baltic International Summer School (BISS) 2018 at the HafenCity University in Hamburg aims at a continuous academic exchange and presents a broader perspective on education and practice in the context of disciplines of built environment. The BISS 2018 is part of a strategic partnerships between the HafenCity University, Aalto University, Chalmers University of Technology, Gdansk University of Technology, Tallinn University of Technology, the Technical University of Denmark and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.<\/p>\n

During the summer school, students (preferable Master or early PhD level) from architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, structural engineering, water engineering and other related disciplines from all partner universities work together in interdisciplinary teams on urban problem typical for cities around the Baltic Sea region. The area east of Hamburg\u00b4s city center, in particular around the high-speed infrastructural joint \u201eBillhorner Br\u00fcckenstra\u00dfe \/ Billhorner R\u00f6hrendamm\u201c will be the stage for the topic 2018 titled Beyond Urban Flows – Architecture and Engineering for Transition Places. The project groups are asked to deal with on-site design and project production in the selected area, as a model for other harbor cities in the Baltic Sea Region and thus the participants of the BISS.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, travel costs and costs of public transportation in Hamburg and a number of social activities during the whole Summer School will be covered.
